Europe is facing numerous big challenges. Possible solutions must be thoroughly debated, as their success will be decided not only at the European or member states’ level, but also and foremost in the European regions. In this conference we debate both national and cross border considerations focusing particularly on rural areas’ resilience in face of climate change, sustainable recovery and current geopolitical concerns. The panel, online as well as in person participants will be discussing the following key questions: How can European rural regions help member states and the EU to emerge stronger and more resilient from the current crises? How can regions contribute to strengthening strategic autonomy in the areas of energy, food security, and resources? Which resources and which prerequisites are necessary?
